Writing

After graduating the original High School of Performing Arts and Carnegie Mellon with a BFA in Acting, I wrote plays with Primary Stages and Playwrights Horizons in the 90’s. Rhythm I was Sayin’ was a finalist for the O’Neill festival, Wally and the Chosen Few was produced by The Drilling Company and Tales from a Newark Boogie was part of the fist Ice Factory festival at The Ohio Theater. I have been writing fiction since the early 2000’s.

Wally and the Chosen Few

The short film version of the play won the audience award at the New York International film festival.

Plague time

Plague Time is the new virus killing folks in America. Set in December 2023, Curt Joiner recounts how the Plague was created and tailored to kill only black folk. The problem, for white supremacists everywhere, is that there ended up being more black in Americans than they thought. Curt is locked away, recounting his story from his prison cell a year later, awaiting execution for a bombing in Pittsburgh during a Black Lives Matter march. Family, like the genetic tracer in the Plague Time virus, is the key to his story because if a Plague decimating America (again) wasn’t bad enough, Curt and his bloodline are being stalked by a demon.

Swing Time 2101

Swing Time 2101 is a New York SciFi novel. Detective Wendell Till has been sent back in time to find the origin of a zombie plague that is spreading in his present day. He is part of the Swing Team, a group of former military officers who are sent through time to solve cases. Time travel is governed by the laws of Swing; like the swings of a pendulum clock. Each swing is a variant of three. Swing One sent him back in time three days, lasted three hours and returned Detective Till to his time, three days later. The ten page section attached, is part of the second swing; three weeks into the past, lasting three days and will bring him home, hopefully with some more information, three weeks into his future.
